Mission Impact 2025
To Our Lasallian Community,
Now that we have settled into 2026, it is a great opportunity to pause and reflect. What have I been
doing with my life? I don’t know about you but sometimes this is a serious question for me.
I work in our Midwest District office and occasionally long for the days when I had direct daily
contact with students, administrators, faculty and staff. At the same time, I’m incredibly gratified
when I visit the ministries and see the great work being done. I have had the incredible opportunity
to visit the Lasallian community in many parts of the world and I can vouch for the wonderful
miracles being performed by our men and women Lasallians as they bring about transformation
in the young men and women entrusted to their care.
This ministry is one of accompaniment and of transformation. I think that’s why Pope Leo XIV can
say with certitude that our altar is the classroom. As the bread and wine are transformed to the
body and blood of Christ at the sacramental altar in our parishes, the young are transformed from
young children to critically thinking adults who are engaged in their churches, their places of work,
and in the civic community, and who are rooted in the values of the Gospel and a relationship
with Jesus Christ.
Lasallian education touches more than 1,000,000 students. Miracles are indeed performed by
nearly 95,000 Lasallian educators who touch hearts by setting high expectations, challenging
their students to be disciplined and hardworking, along with the empathy and compassion that
embraces them with the love of Christ. There is no doubt that the classroom and all of our
ministerial sites are our altar where holy transformation takes place. Enjoy taking a look at some
of the reflections that follow in this report. You will be introduced to some incredible Lasallians
and you will be convinced that miracles are happening each and every day in all of our ministries.
Thank you,
Brother Michael Fehrenbach, FSC
